Die Legende der Titanic - Ausstellung München

Alte Paketposthalle – Pineapple Park

Step aboard one of the most famous ships in history and experience its journey in a breathtaking immersive exhibition. From the majestic construction to the tragic sinking, discover the iconic spaces of the Titanic, hear the untold stories of its passengers, and experience history like never before in the newly repurposed Paketposthalle.

The immersive exhibition "Die Legende der Titanic" is currently breaking visitor records in Madrid, and now it comes to Germany for the first time. On May 9th, "Die Legende der TITANIC" will come to life in the Paketposthalle.

Between Triumph and Tragedy: A gigantic ship hull majestically stands at the pier, sailors bustle about, and under the rough shouts of the seamen, the excited murmurs of passengers mix: It is April 10, 1912, and the port of Southampton is alive with activity. The RMS Titanic, a marvel of engineering and the largest ship in the world at the time, embarks on its maiden voyage to New York. The RMS Titanic embodies a promise and hope--of progress, luxury, and a better future. No one suspects that the legendary ocean giant is inexorably heading towards its dramatic fate. Just four days later, the supposedly unsinkable Titanic strikes an iceberg and sinks with over 2,000 passengers and crew into the icy Atlantic.

The exhibition "Die Legende der Titanic" takes visitors on a journey back to 1912, right into the glamorous world of the legendary ocean liner. Through impressive projections, interactive elements, and lifelike replicas, the vivid atmosphere aboard the magnificent ship becomes tangible in a multisensory way: Guests board the floating palace, stroll through the cabin areas, and learn moving stories from eyewitnesses.

Augmented Reality, fascinating experience worlds, and Virtual Reality--innovation meets history. At the start of the immersive exhibition, visitors enter a representation of the Southampton harbor, where Captain Smith personally welcomes guests via an Augmented Reality experience. Throughout the exhibition, AR provides additional experiences, including exclusive background information on selected exhibits. The tour continues through the narrow corridors of third class to reach the exhibition hall, where personal stories and impressive presentations provide deep insights into the fates of those on board the Titanic.

In the captivating Virtual Reality room, guests will pay a special tribute to the Titanic's famed orchestra. In an impressive presentation, the classical music pieces that once played aboard will be uniquely reinterpreted.

Another highlight is the immersive showroom, which allows visitors to dive deep into the legend of the Titanic. The projections showcase, with cutting-edge technology and emotional storytelling, a unique perspective on the ship's most dramatic moments--from its construction and journey to the tragic sinking on the night of April 14-15, 1912. The 360° projections impress with their state-of-the-art quality and emotional narrative, particularly focusing on the story of the Callaghan family--a father and daughter who were passengers aboard the Titanic.

The soundtrack for the entire exhibition, composed by René Merkelbach, was recorded with a 50-piece orchestra and choir, providing a captivating and emotional soundscape.

The exhibition also expands the experience with an interactive metaverse, allowing visitors to explore the Titanic, every deck, cabin, and lounge, as if they were guests on the famous ship. "Die Legende der TITANIC - Die Immersive Ausstellung" is more than just an exhibition--it is a time travel into the history of the legendary Titanic and an extraordinary experience.
