Die Kopenhagen-Trilogie
In the 1920s, Tove, a young girl with dreams and talent, finds no place for herself in the working-class neighborhood of Vesterbro, Copenhagen. At the age of fourteen, she is forced to leave school and work as a maid, later taking a job as an office assistant against her will. However, she refuses to be defeated and begins to publish her poetry and stories, seeking freedom through her writing. Tove Ditlevsen intricately weaves reality and fiction in her 'Kopenhagen-Trilogie,' narrating her own biography and the escape from a complicated life into the world of storytelling. Her protagonist recounts her experiences in a manner that is both humorous and deadpan, revealing personal matters that remain politically charged.
This theatrical adaptation is based on Ditlevsen's novels 'Kindheit,' 'Jugend,' and 'Abhängigkeit,' adapted for the stage by Tom Silkeberg. It features a video prologue from 'Gesichter,' translated from Danish by Ursel Allenstein.
Cast includes Naffie Janha (Tove I), Pia Händler (Tove II), Cathrin Störmer (Tove III), Thomas Reisinger (Mein Vater), among others.
