BRSO: Atlas Eclipticalis

Museum Brandhorst

Join us for a captivating chamber concert featuring musicians from the BRSO as part of the festival 'Fünf Freunde', coinciding with the exhibition 'Fünf Freunde. John Cage, Merce Cunningham, Jasper Johns, Robert Rauschenberg, Cy Twombly' held in the Rosensaal. The event will commence with a guided exhibition visit and introduction at 18:00.

The concert will showcase John Cage's 'Atlas Eclipticalis', inspired by the star atlas of Czech astrologer Antonín Becvár. Cage's composition transforms star maps into sound, creating an experience that evolves with each performance. Additionally, Erik Satie's renowned piano cycles 'Gymnopédies' and 'Gnossiennes' will be performed in a trio arrangement for viola, cello, and double bass, arranged by Klaus-Peter Werani.
