Bau mit! - München baut
In the city, there are many exciting things: residential buildings, schools, roads, playgrounds, subways, museums, and train stations. But who comes up with all this? Who builds it? And what actually happens at a construction site? In the exhibition "Bau mit! - München baut," children can actively participate! With a large crane, they build walls using real bricks, construct enormous towers from bamboo, and create roofs over them. Through play, they discover why a house doesn't just fall over and what is needed to construct one. They will also look at how water, electricity, and internet services reach homes and even work as architects, designing their own construction project in a small office.
The exhibition is an educational adventure centered around urban construction. At various interactive stations, children can experiment with different building materials. They will learn how houses work and why certain shapes, like arches or towers, are particularly stable. The exhibition also shows how a city transforms--above ground and below. It addresses the people who work at construction sites and are influenced by the buildings. Children and young people will learn to observe more closely and engage in discussions about their city and surroundings. Perhaps they will even contribute to shaping our cities in the future!
