The finale of the August-Everding-Musikwettbewerb 2025 in the piano category will take place on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, from 19:00 to 21:30. This prestigious competition features an internationally renowned jury that will determine the prize winners after the final performance.
The jury includes notable figures such as Silke Avenhaus, a pianist and professor at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater München; Eckhard Glauche, the head of music productions at Bayerischer Rundfunk; Bernd Glemser, a pianist and professor at Hochschule für Musik Würzburg; Lauma Skride, a pianist; and Yaara Tal, also a pianist.
Established 27 years ago by Prof. August Everding and Helmut Pauli, the August Everding Music Competition aims to support and promote classical music, particularly for gifted young musicians. Since 2019, the Münchener Konzertverein e.V. has been organizing the competition, having received exclusive naming rights from Prof. Everding's widow, Dr. Gustava Everding. Previous winners have gone on to have successful artistic careers, including artists like Isabelle Faust (violin), Juliane Banse (soprano), and many others.
