Elevator Accident Involves 82-Year-Old Woman in Munich

An alarming incident occurred in Munich where an 82-year-old woman sustained serious injuries after becoming trapped in an elevator. Reports indicate that the woman fell while attempting to enter the lift. Before she could regain her footing, the elevator unexpectedly ascended, leaving her legs stuck between the cabin and the shaft.

The upper part of her body was positioned at the upper floor, while her legs remained wedged in the confined space. Her husband, witnessing the distressing situation, promptly activated the emergency call button within the elevator to summon assistance.

Rescue operations proved to be challenging for the emergency services. After several unsuccessful attempts to extract her, firefighters opted to enter the elevator cabin in order to apply additional weight, which would help lower the cabin. To manage her pain and ensure her safety during the rescue, the woman was sedated and supported from below.

Following approximately 40 minutes of concerted efforts, the elderly woman was finally freed from her precarious situation and subsequently transported to a local hospital for medical evaluation and treatment. Meanwhile, her husband received psychological support to help him cope with the traumatic experience.
