The Eisbären Berlin hockey team has clinched its eleventh championship title in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL), with the recent series against the Kölner Haie showcasing the team's remarkable performance. Despite being sidelined due to a hand injury sustained during the second game of the finals, team captain Kai Wissmann expressed pride in his teammates' achievements.

Throughout the last three finals, the Eisbären displayed an unprecedented level of dominance, winning each match with a score of 7-0, a feat that left Wissmann in awe. He noted that while he could not participate on the ice, watching his team succeed was made easier by their outstanding performance. The results, he remarked, were almost surreal, particularly for a championship series.

This season was especially poignant for the Eisbären, as it was marked by the tragic loss of teammate Tobias Eder to cancer. Wissmann highlighted that the spirit of Eder remains a significant presence within the team, stating that the experiences they shared throughout the season have brought them closer together.

After achieving four championships in the last five seasons, Wissmann is optimistic about the team's prospects for the upcoming season. He believes that they will have another strong opportunity to secure further victories and continue their legacy in the league.

As the team prepares for the next chapter, the Eisbären look to build on their recent successes, fueled by the memories of their late teammate and the unwavering support of their fans.
