Double Feature at the Orangerie
Section: Arts
Last week in Teublitz, roughly 20 kilometres north of Regensburg, Bavaria, a drunken 24-year-old woman drove a car backwards into a lake.
Police in Burglengenfeld announced that during a party early on Sunday morning, the woman had chosen to practise her driving skills in her husband's car. The 24-year-old, who had no driver's license, simply put the car into reverse and gave the lake behind her no thought as she pressed her foot down on the pedal.
She and the car sank 2 metres into the lake, but somehow the woman managed to free herself by going through the car window. Police only noticed the accident due to the car's headlights were still burning and easy to see from the lake's surface.
