Drop in Temperature Signals End of Sunny and Warm Conditions
Following a period of sunny and warm weather, a shift is expected in the upcoming days with the arrival of a cold front. The German Weather Service (DWD) forecasts highs ranging from 10 to 15 degrees on Monday, marking a noticeable drop in temperatures. However, the southeastern region is anticipated to experience milder conditions, with maximum temperatures ranging from 16 to 20 degrees.
Areas south of the Danube can anticipate overcast skies accompanied by heavy rainfall and intermittent strong thunderstorms. These weather patterns are expected to gradually retreat towards the Alps, leading to an easing of conditions in affected areas.
In the northeast, scattered rainfall is predicted during the afternoon hours, accompanied by varying degrees of cloud cover. Additionally, isolated instances of strong thunderstorms may occur in the evening. The DWD further warns of heavy rain and sporadic thunderstorm activity moving in from the west and northwest later in the day, with the possibility of severe gusts of wind.
Tuesday is forecasted to bring further cooling, with temperatures ranging between 8 and 13 degrees amid continued showers and thunderstorm activity, possibly accompanied by sleet. Cloudy conditions are expected to persist, with higher elevations possibly experiencing snowfall above 800 to 1000 meters.
Wednesday's overnight forecast includes scattered rain showers in certain regions, with temperatures dipping between 4 and 0 degrees. Light frost may occur in higher elevation areas, with snowfall expected above 800 meters in the Alps and the Black Forest.
Wednesday's daytime temperatures are expected to remain cool, ranging from 8 to 13 degrees. Cloudy conditions, intermittent showers, and isolated thunderstorms with sleet are likely to persist, particularly in central to southern regions. Snowfall is anticipated in higher elevation areas, while northern regions may experience drier weather with a mix of sun and clouds, albeit accompanied by strong northwesterly winds.
