The Brandenburg State Parliament was the scene of significant disruption during a debate regarding the recent federal elections. The incident escalated after AfD member Dennis Hohloch confronted Minister President Dietmar Woidke, leading to two interruptions in the session.

During the heated discussion, Hohloch criticized Woidke, accusing him of failing to follow through on commitments, similar to other political figures. This provocative statement earned Hohloch a reprimand from the Landtag's President, Ulrike Liedtke, who requested an apology for his choice of words. Hohloch, who serves as the parliamentary managing director for the AfD faction, refused to comply, insisting that his time for speaking was unjustly curtailed.

Liedtke formally issued an order for Hohloch to reconsider his language and return to his seat. Despite this, Hohloch persisted in his refusal, claiming that the interruption of his speech was unprecedented. In response to the tense atmosphere, members of the BSW coalition faction rose in unison and exited the chamber, expressing their disapproval of the conduct displayed during the debate.

BSW faction leader Niels-Olaf Lüders remarked on the behavior exhibited, stating that it did not align with proper parliamentary decorum. The BSW members returned shortly after their exit, demonstrating their dissent.

Following the uproar, Hohloch called for a special session of the presidency to address the matter. The Landtag President subsequently paused the session to clarify the reasons behind the abrupt end to Hohloch's speaking time, attributing it to a technical issue. Liedtke expressed regret over the escalation of tensions during the proceedings.

Prior to the events, the AfD faction had summoned Woidke from a conference of eastern state ministers to participate in the parliamentary discussion, intensifying the stakes of the debate.
