Marinella Senatore Dance and Parade in City Centre

Marinella Senatore (*1977) is a central figure in international contemporary art. With her projects she creates places where people can develop something together and unfold their creativity. Following the tradition of the Greek agora, the Roman forum or the local main square, the artist creates framework conditions to initiate and accompany these encounters. Your art creates publicity.

"The School of Narrative Dance" has been performed worldwide for over ten years: The project will be continued in Munich: people of all ages and backgrounds are invited to participate. This open 'school', open to all, consists of various workshops centered around music, dance, parkour, storytelling and much more. In intensive processes, the artist enters into a confrontation with collectives and individuals, people with different experiences and abilities who feel like performing, dancing, singing and staging. The aim is to reach as many citizens as possible so that the school of narrative dance in Munich can produce a variety of stories.

On July 23, "The School of Narrative Dance" will create a street parade with all those involved, which will stretch from the Museum Villa Stuck via Prinzregentenstraße to Odeonsplatz. The parade is deliberately intended to occupy central city axes that were used by the Nazis for their propaganda marches. With Marinella Senatore, the voices and the bodies with their knowledge, memories, experiences and stories enter the public space. In this way, a procession is created that follows the traces of Nazi history and the post-Nazi inscriptions in the city - an anti-fascist parade in the 21st century.
