Winners Announced at the 97th Academy Awards Ceremony

LOS ANGELES -- The 97th Academy Awards took place on Sunday, showcasing a memorable night of cinematic achievements. Adrien Brody secured his second Oscar for Best Actor for his role in The Brutalist, while Mikey Madison took home the Best Actress award for her performance in Anora, which also won the prestigious Best Picture award, gathering a total of five Oscars.

Kieran Culkin was recognized as Best Supporting Actor for his role in A Real Pain, while Zoe Saldaña won the Best Supporting Actress award for her performance in Emilia Pérez. Director Sean Baker had a standout evening, claiming awards for Best Director, Best Screenplay, and Best Film Editing for his work on Anora.

In the animated categories, Flow triumphed over The Wild Robot for Best Animated Feature Film. Notably, Paul Tazewell made history by becoming the first Black man to win an Oscar for Best Costume Design for his work on Wicked.
