Munich. The bronze boar in front of the hunt and fishery museum on Neuhauser Straße has been damaged.
The right rear foot of the popular - photographed hundreds of times a day - animal statue has been missing for a few days. According to Heike Jass, who works at the museum, a truck driver broke the foot off during crane transportation for a nearby construction site. The artwork, by sculptor Martin Mayer from Munich, is hoped to be complete again soon. A casting house is already working on the task of reattaching the foot, according to Jass. The repair is expected to take place some time in the following week.
