Bayern Munch Want Barcola as PSG Hold Firm

Mon 16th Jun, 2025

There's always drama surrounding a transfer window, and in the current window it centres on Bayern Munich's pursuit of Bradley Barcola, who has been installed as the German giants' primary transfer target. The problem is that PSG aren't looking to sell Barcola and are resisting any approaches for the 22-year-old French winger.

What's pushed Barcola forward as the club's number one target this summer is Leroy Sane leaving for Galatasaray and Kingsley Coman also on his way out of the club. Bayern's sporting director, Max Eberl, has publicly stated that Barcola tops their wishlist, and if a move for the PSG star fails, they will target Nico Williams instead.

Barcola enjoyed a breakout season with PSG. The winger scored 21 goals and 19 assists for the club, helping them secure a historic treble of the Ligue 1 title, the Coupe de France, and the Champions League. His pace, dribbling skills, and ability to regularly get among the goals make him a perfect fit for Vincent Kompany's style at Bayern.

At present, football betting odds suggest that if Barcola were to move on, it would be Bayern Munich where he ends up. But that would require some softening on PSG's part. They're unlikely to want to lose a young talent like Barcola, especially after he contributed so well in 2024/25.

PSG's Reluctance to Sell

PSG remain resolute in their refusal to sell Barcola, as they see him as a future superstar in their post-Mbappe era. The club is showing little flexibility and is only open to considering offers deemed substantial. Losing Barcola at this stage would be a blow to Luis Enrique, who is determined to have as much strength in depth as possible, allowing his team to dominate on multiple fronts.

What would present a challenge is if teams believe Barcola can be purchased this summer, as it would mean Bayern Munich wouldn't be the only club at the table. The likes of Arsenal and Liverpool are thought to have watched Barcola in the past and believe he has the potential to be a future superstar.

If a bidding war were to start for Barcola between Bayern Munich and Premier League outfits, PSG could prove powerless to resist if the bidding got to a point where the money on offer was too good to refuse. However, at this stage, PSG are adamant that Barcola isn't for sale, and they're planning for life with him in their squad next season as they look to achieve success on multiple fronts once again.

Conclusion

Bayern Munich's pursuit of Bradley Barcola isn't only speculative - he is their number one target this summer. However, PSG remain steadfast in their position that he's not for sale at this time. They say every player has a price in football, and while it feels unlikely that Bayern will reach that price, believed to be in excess of EUR60 million, it doesn't mean other clubs won't test PSG's resolve. And, who knows, Bayern could stump up the goods if he's the winger Vincent Kompany wants as a priority.
