Tue 18th Feb, 2025

AVM, a prominent player in the networking technology sector, has announced its participation in the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025, where it will showcase a range of innovative products aimed at enhancing home networking solutions. Among the highlights is the new Fritz-Mesh-Set 4200, designed to improve Wi-Fi coverage across larger homes.

The Fritz-Mesh-Set 4200 comprises up to three Fritz repeaters, specifically utilizing the existing Fritz-Repeater 3000 AX models equipped with Wi-Fi 6E capabilities. This flexible package is intended for users who may not currently own AVM products, emphasizing compatibility with various routers and modems beyond the Fritzbox line.

In addition to the Fritz-Mesh-Set 4200, AVM will exhibit several previously announced products. The Fritzbox 5690 XGS is one of the key devices, featuring support for fiber-optic connections with speeds of up to 10 Gbps through a passive XGS-PON interface, along with Wi-Fi 7 capabilities, albeit without the 6 GHz band.

Another notable product on display is the Fritzbox 4690, which operates solely as a WLAN router and does not include an integrated modem, necessitating the use of an additional device. This model supports Wi-Fi 7 with four MIMO streams and offers both 10 Gbps WAN and LAN connections, also lacking the 6 GHz band.

AVM will also introduce its first Wi-Fi 7-compatible repeaters, the Fritz-Repeater 2700 and 1700. The 2700 model can achieve a maximum throughput of 5760 Gbps in the 5 GHz band using four MIMO streams, while the 2.4 GHz band supports up to 688 Mbps across two streams. Additionally, it features an Ethernet port capable of transmitting data at 2.5 Gbps. The Fritz-Repeater 1700, on the other hand, offers a lower performance level with two MIMO streams in the 5 GHz band, reaching a maximum speed of 2880 Gbps, and its Ethernet connection supports 1 Gbps.

AVM has indicated that further information regarding market availability and pricing for these new products will be provided in due course, as the details remain undisclosed at this time.
