In a disturbing incident on Sunday evening, a kiosk located in Herne-Röhlinghausen was targeted by two armed robbers. The event took place around 8:20 PM at the establishment on Plutostraße 112, where two masked individuals entered the premises.
The robbers threatened a 53-year-old employee from Dortmund with a firearm, demanding cash and cigarettes. The employee complied with their demands, allowing the assailants to flee the scene with the stolen goods. Fortunately, the employee was not harmed during the ordeal.
The police have described the suspects as being between the ages of 20 and 25, both wearing medical masks at the time of the robbery. The individual wielding the weapon was approximately 180 cm tall, had black hair, and was dressed in black jogging pants. He was noted to speak German with an accent. His accomplice was described as slightly thinner and also donned a black jogging suit along with a black sweatshirt.
The Criminal Investigation Department 13 has taken over the case and is actively seeking assistance from the public. They urge anyone with information related to the incident to contact them via the following phone numbers: 0234 909-4135 or 0234 909-4441 (criminal investigation office).
This incident has raised concerns in the community regarding safety and security in local businesses, prompting calls for increased vigilance among residents and shopkeepers alike.
