Berlin - A dramatic robbery occurred on Sunday evening in the Marzahn district, where a cash transport vehicle was targeted by multiple armed assailants. The incident took place around 10:40 PM when the perpetrators rammed the cash transport with a vehicle, successfully halting it.
Following the collision, the attackers proceeded to the rear of the cash transport, where initial reports indicate they pried open the back door. They swiftly transferred their loot into a second vehicle before making their escape from the scene.
In an attempt to erase any evidence, the robbers set fire to the vehicle used in the attack, as confirmed by police spokesperson Anja Dierschke. They then fled in another car, reportedly heading towards Berlin-Neukölln. During their escape, the criminals allegedly caused several traffic accidents.
Authorities discovered a vehicle believed to be connected to the robbery in an industrial area on Neuköllnische Allee. Heavily armed police units conducted thorough searches of the building and surrounding area. A police helicopter was deployed to survey and illuminate the site from above.
Fortunately, no one was injured during the incident. It remains unclear whether shots were fired, and investigations are ongoing to determine the details surrounding the event.
