Android 16 Beta 3.2 Released: Key Bug Fixes Enhance Stability

Thu 3rd Apr, 2025

Google is progressing towards the completion of Android 16, unveiling Beta 3.2, which addresses numerous bugs and enhances overall system stability.

Following the release of Android 16 Beta 3 in mid-March 2025, which achieved platform stability, the beta version still contained several issues, including excessive power consumption and crashes in the settings application. Some of these bugs were rectified shortly after with the release of Beta 3.1.

The newly launched Beta 3.2 introduces further optimizations and bug fixes. Notably, it reverts the modified haptic feedback that had confused some Beta testers using Pixel devices.

According to Google's changelog, this update resolves a display flickering issue primarily affecting the Pixel 6 series when using the camera for taking photos and videos. Additionally, the new beta improves battery life on Pixel smartphones by fixing a problem that caused an excessive battery drain during standby. It also addresses various other issues that impacted system stability and user experience.

Android 16 Beta 3.2 is now being distributed to all users who have registered their compatible Pixel devices in the beta program. This includes all models starting from the Pixel 6 and the Pixel Tablet.

Google plans to release the fourth and final Android 16 beta in April 2025, ahead of the final version scheduled for launch in June 2025. Among the new features of Android 16 are 'Live Activities', which will provide real-time updates on delivery times and ride-sharing services on the lock screen and notification panel, similar to Apple's live updates. Furthermore, apps will be adapted to fit various screen sizes, and Android 16 will support Bluetooth Auracast, allowing Bluetooth headphones to connect to public channels in places like airports for announcements.
