Munich. A tram took a wrong turn and caused an accident at Dachauer Straße on tuesday.
At 9.15 AM a 38 year old tram driver from Munich drove the tram on line 20. At a junction he did not notice a signal which informed him about the direction of traffic. The signal indicated for him to turn right but he turned left into Schwere-Reiter-Straße.
A 47 year old electronical engineer was not able to stop his car in time and bumped his VW van into the tram. The man started to drive over the junction when the traffic lights went green, but was too late to notice the tram.
The collision catapulted his car into the car of a 38 year old woman who was driving to the right of him. Both of them suffered throat and neck injuries and were taken to hospital.
