Nationwide Telecom Blackout Disrupts Spain's Major Networks

The nationwide seven-day incidence is lower than the previous day. The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) gave the value of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants and week this morning at 1625.1. For comparison, the previous day the value had been 1663.0. A week ago, the nationwide incidence was 1752.0 (previous month: 1171.9).
Health offices in Germany reported 274,901 new Corona infections to the RKI within one day. This is according to figures reflecting the status of the RKI dashboard as of 05:10. A week ago, there were 318,387 infections.
When looking at the figures, it must be taken into account that individual states do not report data on every day of the week; on weekends, for example, Baden-Württemberg and Brandenburg do not. This in turn leads to additional reports on subsequent days. This makes it increasingly difficult to compare daily values. In addition, experts have been assuming for some time that there is a high number of cases not recorded by the RKI - due to overburdened health authorities and because not all infected persons have a PCR test. Only these count in the statistics.
Across Germany, 279 deaths were recorded within 24 hours, according to the new data. A week ago, there were 300 deaths. The RKI counted 21,104,509 confirmed infections with Sars-CoV-2 since the start of the pandemic. The actual total number is likely to be significantly higher, as many infections are not detected.
The number of Corona-infected patients arriving at hospitals per 100,000 population over a seven-day period was reported by the RKI on Wednesday as 7.21 (Tuesday: 7.07). Here, too, there are days with incomplete reports. The figure also includes many people with positive corona tests who have another primary disease.
The RKI gave the number of those recovered on Thursday as 16,546,900. The number of people who died from or with the involvement of confirmed infection with Sars-CoV-2 rose to 129,391.
