Border Control in Zittau Discovers Multiple Weapon Violations

Fri 25th Apr, 2025

In recent days, border police in the Ebersbach region conducted a series of checks at the Zittau border, uncovering several violations of weapon laws.

On April 22, 2025, at approximately 2:35 PM, officers inspected a Czech vehicle on Friedensstraße in Zittau. During the search, they discovered that the 20-year-old driver was in possession of a prohibited one-handed knife, which was subsequently confiscated. Authorities filed an official report concerning this violation.

Two days later, on April 24, 2025, at around 10:00 AM, police conducted a control on the Rödertal highway parking area where they stopped a Polish car. The 26-year-old female driver handed over a telescopic baton, which was readily accessible in the driver's door. This item was also secured by the police, and a report for the weapon law infringement was filed.

On the same day, at 11:50 AM, in Sohland an der Spree, officers checked a 15-year-old German individual. The teenager admitted to purchasing a knuckle duster at a Czech market and also mentioned finding another one. He voluntarily surrendered both items to the police, leading to the creation of a report for violating weapon laws.

The recent spike in weapon law violations highlights ongoing concerns regarding border security and the illegal possession of weapons among travelers. Law enforcement agencies continue to ramp up their efforts to monitor and enforce weapon regulations to ensure public safety.
