Winter Sports Festival

Munich. Around 20 000 visitors attended the 1st Winter Sports Festival in the Olympic Park last weekend and everyone agreed: "Munich is ready for Olympic 2018."

The snow was still firm, the temperature was springlike, and on Saturday there was a welcome dose of sunshine to cheer everyone up. Whether skating, biathlon, ski-cross, ice-climbing or cross country - the Winter Sports Festival at the Olympic Park presented the opportunity to try at least 20 winter sports. 1500 tonnes of soft powdery snow were provided by numerous snow cannons, which were in operation around the clock.

The festival not only brought Munich closer to the winter sports, but also showed the enthusiasm of people for the Munich application of the Olympic Games in 2018.
