Weather Advisory: Freezing Rain Poses Slippery Conditions in Berlin and Brandenburg

Fri 7th Feb, 2025

As the winter holidays draw to a close, residents of Berlin and Brandenburg are greeted with overcast skies and chilly temperatures. The German Weather Service (DWD) has issued warnings regarding slippery conditions due to the likelihood of freezing rain.

This morning, the region is experiencing light frost, with temperatures hovering around the freezing mark. The DWD cautions that the combination of cold air and the potential for freezing drizzle may create hazardous situations on roadways and sidewalks.

Throughout the day, the weather is expected to remain predominantly gray, with maximum temperatures ranging from 2 to 4 degrees Celsius. However, as evening approaches, there may be some breaks in the clouds, allowing for glimpses of sunlight.

Looking ahead to Saturday, the forecast indicates clearer skies and dry conditions, although temperatures will remain low, with highs expected between 2 and 5 degrees Celsius. Residents are advised to exercise caution, particularly during morning commutes, as icy patches could persist.
