Voize Aims to Streamline Documentation in Hospitals with Innovative App

Mon 31st Mar, 2025

The start-up Voize has developed an advanced application that utilizes artificial intelligence for speech recognition and documentation, aimed at simplifying the workload of healthcare professionals. This app is designed to process spoken language, structure data, and automatically generate appropriate documentation entries, even recognizing various dialects.

Voize's innovative approach is already being utilized by over 600 healthcare facilities, significantly reducing the documentation time for nurses by an average of 39 minutes per shift. This time-saving feature allows healthcare professionals to dedicate more attention to patient care, a critical aspect in the nursing field.

According to Voize CEO, the application processes voice inputs locally on the user's smartphone, ensuring that data privacy is maintained. Before any data is used for training the AI model, it undergoes anonymization on the device. Once anonymized, the data is securely processed on Voize's servers to refine the AI capabilities, with updates sent back to the application on the users' smartphones.

The importance of documentation in nursing cannot be overstated, as it is essential for tracking patient mobility and preventing complications such as pressure sores. The app also features alert mechanisms that notify caregivers of critical health indicators, such as elevated blood pressure levels, enhancing the quality of patient monitoring.

Voize, founded in 2020 by Fabio Schmidberger and his twin brother Marcel, aims to expand its services beyond nursing homes to the hospital sector. With recent funding efforts reaching nine million USD, the company plans to enhance its AI technology and set a new standard for digital documentation within healthcare.

Looking ahead, Voize aims to have approximately 2,500 healthcare facilities using their application by the end of 2025. The company is also collaborating with Recare to implement its technology in hospitals, specifically targeting discharge management processes. This expansion is part of Voize's strategic growth plan to provide efficient and effective documentation solutions across various healthcare settings.
