US Supreme Court Allows Doge Access to Sensitive American Data

In a significant legal development, the United States Supreme Court has granted the Department of Government Efficiency (Doge) access to sensitive data held by the Social Security Administration (SSA). This decision comes amidst ongoing litigation concerning the extent of the committee's data access rights, which affects millions of American citizens.

The Supreme Court's ruling, which was passed by a 6-3 majority, allows Doge employees to access crucial information, including Social Security numbers, birth dates, bank account details, addresses, and in some cases, sensitive health information. The court's decision overrides a previous lower court ruling that had temporarily blocked such access due to privacy concerns.

Critics, including dissenting justices Ketanji Brown Jackson and Sonia Sotomayor, expressed serious reservations about the implications of this ruling.
