In the latest developments of the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia, Ukrainian forces have launched drone attacks targeting key sites within Russia. Reports indicate that these attacks have successfully struck a military airbase and a refinery.

The Russian Defense Ministry reported that they managed to intercept a significant number of Ukrainian drones, claiming to have shot down 174 over several regions, including Bryansk, Rostov, Saratov, Voronezh, Kaluga, Kursk, Oryol, Ryazan, Tula, Belgorod, Tambov, and the annexed Crimean Peninsula. They also noted the destruction of three Neptune-MD missiles over the Black Sea. However, despite these claims, evidence suggests that Ukrainian strikes have had notable impacts.

In the city of Engels, located in the Saratov region, a residential building was reportedly hit, prompting a temporary evacuation of its residents. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries, and residents have since returned. Additionally, a fire broke out at an industrial facility in Engels, believed to be a refinery, which is situated near a major air force base known for launching attacks on Ukraine.

Further incidents were reported in the Bryansk region, where drone strikes are believed to have targeted a military airfield. Footage from local residents captured a significant explosion, suggesting that a munitions depot may have been hit.

In Tambov, the regional governor reported that a facility was struck, resulting in injuries to three individuals, although details regarding the nature of the facility remain undisclosed. Concurrently, railway infrastructure in the Belgorod region faced an attack, causing a freight locomotive to derail following an explosion, though no injuries were reported. Authorities have temporarily closed the affected rail line.

In recent days, there have been multiple attacks targeting railway infrastructure, including an incident that led to the derailment of a passenger train, resulting in fatalities and injuries.
