The Ukrainian military has reported a significant operation against a Russian airbase located in the Voronezh region as part of its ongoing defense against the Russian offensive. The strike targeted the Borissoglebsk military airfield, which is known to host various Russian fighter jets, including the Sukhoi Su-34, Su-35S, and Su-30SM.

According to the Ukrainian armed forces, the operation resulted in the destruction of a depot containing glide bombs, an aircraft used for training purposes, and potentially other military assets. The Ukrainian forces emphasized their commitment to undermining the capabilities of Russian forces to attack civilian infrastructure and to compel the Russian Federation to cease its armed aggression against Ukraine.

The Russian Ministry of Defense has confirmed that a Ukrainian drone attack occurred in the Voronezh region but did not provide details regarding any damage caused. The Voronezh area has frequently been targeted by Ukrainian strikes due to its strategic importance, as it serves as a launch point for Russian air assaults on the nearby Ukrainian city of Kharkiv.

Recent reports indicate that the Russian air force has conducted multiple attacks from the Voronezh region, located approximately 500 kilometers from Kharkiv. Russian media outlets have reported that several Ukrainian drones were intercepted during the night, with residents in the area reporting explosions and fireballs in the sky. The governor of Voronezh, Alexander Gussev, mentioned that there were damages reported, although no casualties have been confirmed.

The Russian Ministry of Defense stated that it had successfully intercepted a total of 94 Ukrainian drone attacks overnight, with 34 of these occurring in the Voronezh region. Additionally, two Ukrainian drones were reportedly shot down as they approached the Moscow area, according to Mayor Sergei Sobyanin.

Ukraine has been engaged in defensive operations against Russia for over three years, striving to protect its sovereignty and territorial integrity amid continuous military threats.
