Charges Filed Against Andrew and Tristan Tate in the UK

Thu 29th May, 2025

UK prosecutors have announced that Andrew Tate, a self-proclaimed social media influencer and controversial figure, along with his brother Tristan, faces multiple criminal charges, including rape, assault, and human trafficking.

The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) confirmed that Andrew Tate is charged with ten offenses which encompass rape, actual bodily harm, human trafficking, and managing prostitution for financial gain. These charges arise from allegations made by three individuals. The CPS indicated that the charges were authorized before an extradition warrant was issued in 2024 to bring Andrew Tate from Romania to the UK.

Tristan Tate is facing eleven charges, which also include rape and human trafficking, specifically related to one complainant. The CPS released a statement confirming the initiation of legal proceedings against both brothers for serious offenses involving three women.

A European arrest warrant was previously issued in England in 2024, which led Romanian courts to approve the extradition of the Tate brothers to the UK.

Both Andrew and Tristan Tate have denied any allegations of wrongdoing. However, the CPS clarified that any ongoing criminal matters in Romania must be resolved prior to proceeding with the cases in the UK.

In February, the Tate brothers traveled to the United States after Romanian prosecutors lifted a travel restriction, but returned to Romania the following month to meet their legal obligations.

Andrew Tate, a former kickboxer, has garnered a substantial online following by promoting a controversial and hyper-masculine lifestyle, often associated with misogynistic views.
