Two Women Caught During Break-In at Flower Shop in Demmin

In Demmin, authorities apprehended two women during an attempted break-in at a former flower shop located on Treptower Straße. The incident occurred on a Tuesday evening when local police received a tip-off from a witness around 10:00 PM.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered a 43-year-old woman attempting to escape on a bicycle, towing a heavily loaded trailer filled with stolen items. Nearby, they found another bicycle and trailer, also filled with goods taken from the store.

As the officers approached, they encountered a second suspect, a 47-year-old woman, who reacted aggressively to their presence. The police proceeded to investigate the inside of the shop, where they located the second woman.

The stolen items primarily consisted of floral merchandise, including baskets and vases, with an estimated total value of around EUR200. Additionally, the damage caused by the break-in was assessed at approximately EUR50.

After completing their investigation, the police released both women, who were already known to law enforcement, back to their bicycles. The authorities secured the stolen goods for further examination.

The Criminal Police in Demmin are continuing their investigation into the incident, as both suspects are of German nationality. This event highlights ongoing concerns regarding property crime in the area, prompting increased vigilance among local residents and law enforcement.
