Munich. A two month old baby died on wednesday in a child clinic. Police suspect the father to have caused the death.
The father of the child denies the crime, but the police suspect him to have killed his two month old baby. The incident took place on the 2nd of May between 6 AM and 11 AM in a building for asylum seekers. The mother called the emergency doctor in the afternoon when she saw the baby was not moving.
As the emergency team arrived, the baby stayed motionless but was still alive. Due to the state of his health the baby was kept in a child clinic in Munich, but died later that evening as its condition deteriorated.
The autopsy, on behalf of the public attorneys of Munich, showed clear signs of a so called "shaken impact syndrome". The homicide squad took over the case on friday.
The current investigation indicates that the father caused the baby's trauma, despite him denying it in interrogations at the weekend.
Upon request of the department of public prosecution in Munich, a warrant was issued against the father for homicide. The mother was released without charges.
