Two Men Assaulted with Pepper Spray in Rheinfelden

In a troubling incident that unfolded in Rheinfelden, two men were victims of a pepper spray attack late at night. The individuals, aged 24 and 36, found themselves in a precarious situation on Josefstraße around 1:30 AM on September 12, 2025. The altercation reportedly began after a resident admonished them for causing a disturbance due to noise.

Shortly thereafter, an unknown assailant approached and sprayed them with pepper spray, causing injuries. Fortunately, the injuries sustained were not serious enough to require medical attention, prompting the two men to continue on their way home.

However, the situation escalated further when, around 3:00 AM, the younger of the two men reported being attacked again by another unidentified individual. This assault resulted in an arm injury, but his companion was able to disarm the attacker during the confrontation.

The police arrived at the scene after the two men sought refuge at a gas station located on Friedrichstraße. One of the men was subsequently transported to a hospital for treatment of his injuries. In the vicinity, law enforcement officials discovered a sickle-shaped gardening tool, which may be linked to the incidents.

The Rheinfelden police department is actively investigating both attacks and is looking into whether there is any connection between them, as well as the motives behind these violent acts.
