Trump Issues Ultimatum to Hamas for Gaza Peace Agreement

Fri 3rd Oct, 2025

In a significant development regarding the ongoing Gaza conflict, U.S. President Donald Trump has announced a final deadline for the Hamas organization to accept his proposed peace plan. According to Trump, an agreement must be reached by Sunday evening at 6:00 PM Washington time (12:00 AM CET Monday). He emphasized that all participating nations have already endorsed the plan and warned Hamas of severe consequences should they fail to seize this 'last chance' for peace.

During a recent meeting in Washington with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Trump unveiled a comprehensive 20-point strategy aimed at resolving the conflict. Netanyahu expressed his support for the plan, which has reportedly received a favorable response from various international representatives, including those from Arab and Muslim nations.

In response, Hamas has stated that it is carefully reviewing the proposal. Analysts anticipate that the group may seek additional concessions or impose conditions before agreeing to the terms. However, Israeli sources have indicated that there is little flexibility, asserting that Hamas can either accept or reject the proposal outright.

The core of the plan includes provisions for the release of all 48 Israeli hostages held by Hamas within a 72-hour timeframe, in exchange for the release of several hundred Palestinians currently detained in Israeli prisons. Additionally, the Israeli military is expected to begin a phased withdrawal from the Gaza Strip. Members of Hamas may also be granted amnesty or permitted to leave the region provided they relinquish their weapons.

As the conflict continues, the fate of the 48 hostages, which includes citizens from various countries, remains a pressing concern. Reports indicate that 20 of these individuals are confirmed to be alive, heightening the urgency for a resolution.
