Dorsten, North Rhine-Westphalia - A quiet rural path, typically isolated, has become the site of a horrific crime. Early on Sunday morning, a woman reportedly on her morning jog alerted authorities after discovering a lifeless body on the ground.
When police arrived, they confirmed that the woman had suffered fatal injuries, suggesting she had been brutally attacked. Nearby, investigators found a small girl, also deceased, concealed within the underbrush. The local homicide unit, along with forensic experts, is currently gathering evidence at the scene.
The identity of the woman, estimated to be between 25 and 35 years old, remains unknown. Initial reports indicate that she sustained significant head trauma. According to sources, the deceased child is believed to be around two to three years old.
In a chilling twist, just three days prior to this tragedy, the same area witnessed a violent robbery. On June 26, a mother in her 40s was assaulted while walking with her one-year-old child. The attackers, having exited a black BMW X6, forcefully pushed the woman to the ground in an attempt to steal her handbag. When that failed, they resorted to violently taking her earrings before fleeing the scene in the luxury vehicle.
Authorities are investigating the possibility that the two incidents may be connected and are urgently seeking witnesses. The suspect descriptions from the previous incident note a man in his fifties, approximately 1.80 meters tall with a stout build, and a woman of similar age and stature, wearing a blue dress and a hijab featuring red, white, and yellow colors.
Police have urged anyone with information to come forward, emphasizing the importance of community vigilance in light of these events. The investigation continues as the local community grapples with the aftermath of this shocking incident.
