Tragic Collision on Parking Lot: Three Lives Lost in Vehicle Crash

Freiburg, Baden-Württemberg - A devastating accident occurred late Saturday evening involving a vehicle carrying seven individuals that crashed into a parked truck, leading to a catastrophic fire and resulting in the loss of three lives, including two young children.

The incident transpired around 10:50 PM on a parking lot adjacent to Federal Highway 3 in Freiburg, leaving emergency responders visibly shaken by the tragic scene. The car, which was reportedly traveling at high speed, collided with the rear of a stationary lorry, igniting a fierce blaze that engulfed the vehicle almost immediately.

Thanks to the brave actions of bystanders, all seven occupants were managed to be rescued from the burning car. However, a 27-year-old man and a six-year-old girl succumbed to their injuries at the crash site, while a 13-year-old girl later passed away in the hospital due to the severity of her wounds.

The driver, a 46-year-old man, along with a 34-year-old woman and their two sons, aged three and seven, were left with serious injuries and are currently receiving medical treatment. Emergency services, including multiple air ambulances, paramedics, and a crisis intervention team, were promptly dispatched to the scene, with approximately 35 responders from the Red Cross and the Maltesers attending to the injured, witnesses, and family members.

The B446 road was closed for several hours following the incident to facilitate the emergency response. According to the police, the narrow entrance to the parking lot may have contributed to the accident, a factor that appears to have caused confusion in the past. However, definitive conclusions regarding the causes of the crash have yet to be established.

Authorities confirmed that all the victims were members of the same family. The 27-year-old man was related to the parents and children involved, and investigations are ongoing to clarify the exact family connections.
