As the new training year commences, Tesla has welcomed a significant cohort of new trainees and dual students at its factory in Grünheide, marking an important milestone for the company. A total of 62 apprentices and 17 dual students have embarked on their educational journeys at the Berlin-Brandenburg Gigafactory, bringing the overall number of trainees to 209, according to company reports.

Tesla has emerged as the largest training provider in Brandenburg, offering a diverse range of vocational training programs. This year, the company introduced a new training program for fire protection personnel, expanding its previous offerings which included 21 vocational trades and 12 dual study programs. The available fields range from industrial management and foundry mechanics to the newly added fire safety training.

Additionally, 40 employees who are hearing-impaired have begun their roles at the Grünheide facility, joining the existing workforce which already includes 115 hearing-impaired individuals across various departments. This initiative reflects Tesla's commitment to inclusivity and diversity within the workplace.

The Grünheide plant, which opened approximately three and a half years ago, currently employs around 11,000 workers and has a production capacity of about 5,000 vehicles per week, translating to an annual output of approximately 250,000 vehicles. However, the factory's operations have not been without controversy, as environmental activists have raised concerns regarding the factory's location within a water protection area.

As Tesla continues to grow its presence in the European market, the company remains focused on enhancing its training programs and contributing to local employment opportunities in Brandenburg.
