
From Click to Crisis: How Typosquatting Targets German Businesses Online

Hallbergmoos. Three teenagers used an ice pick and iron pipe to vandalise cars, causing 25,000 Euro worth of damage.
The target of the three youths was an area of the "Park-and-Fly-company" atBirkenweg. The vandals, 13 and 14 year olds, then proceeded to attack five cars which were stored in the facility. Limousines were left with dents, door handles were ripped out, front and rear windscreens were smashed as well as the wing mirrors. Upon their departure they threw a rock on the roof of the 5th car.
The damage to the property is estimated at around 25.000 Euro. The vandals bragged about their act in the Jugendwerk in the afternoon. One of the supervisors overheard their conversation and drove to the scene of the crime to witness the destruction firsthand and informed the police immediately. When questioned by the police, the trio admitted to the crime.
Furthermore the three criminals are suspected of throwing stones at passing cars, outside the Jugendwerk. A van's windscreen was cracked and subsequently shattered, with an estimated damage of around 1000 Euro.
