Düsseldorf - An 18-year-old motorcyclist lost control of his vehicle late on August 14, 2025, while navigating the A3 near the Solingen interchange heading towards Arnhem. The incident occurred around 10:59 PM when the rider, along with his 18-year-old passenger, experienced a severe accident.
Witnesses reported that the young driver failed to maintain control during a left-hand curve at the interchange, resulting in a collision with the guardrails. The impact was significant, causing both the rider and his passenger to tumble over the barrier and down a steep embankment.
Emergency responders utilized a crane to rescue the motorcyclist, who was subsequently transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Fortunately, he is not in life-threatening condition. His passenger received outpatient care for her injuries.
During the investigation that followed the accident, authorities discovered that the motorcycle was equipped with an engine that exceeded the power limits permitted by the rider's license. This raised suspicions regarding the legality of the operation, leading to an inquiry into possible unauthorized driving. The motorcycle has been confiscated as part of the investigation.
Despite the seriousness of the accident, traffic disruptions were minimal, and the investigation is ongoing as authorities piece together the details surrounding the crash.
