In a concerning incident at Bochum's main train station, a 16-year-old was discovered wandering on the railway tracks while heavily intoxicated. The event occurred in the early hours of July 27, 2023, prompting a swift response from the federal police.

At approximately 2:30 AM, security personnel from Deutsche Bahn noticed the adolescent as he made his way from the tracks to a nearby parking area. Their alertness led to the immediate involvement of law enforcement, who arrived to find the young man initially unresponsive.

Emergency medical services were summoned to the scene. Fortunately, the teenager regained consciousness shortly after, allowing officers to ascertain his identity. A breathalyzer test revealed a blood alcohol level of approximately 3.2 per mil, indicating significant intoxication.

Medical responders treated the minor on-site for his condition before he was transported to a children's hospital for further evaluation and care. Authorities have since initiated legal proceedings regarding his unauthorized presence on the railway tracks.

The federal police have issued a warning regarding the dangers associated with railway areas. They emphasize that modern trains often approach silently, which can lead to tragic accidents as they are unable to stop or divert in time. The risks posed by operational facilities in such areas further underscore the importance of adhering to safety regulations.
