A serious traffic incident occurred in Fürth on Saturday evening, involving a 17-year-old motorcyclist and a passenger car. The collision resulted in severe injuries to the teenager and revealed several additional legal violations upon police investigation.

According to authorities, the accident took place as a 26-year-old Audi driver was traveling along Würzburger Straße and signaled to turn left into a parking space. The 17-year-old, riding a KTM lightweight motorcycle behind the car, failed to notice the Audi's maneuver in time. Attempting to overtake the turning vehicle, the motorcyclist collided with the car.

As a result of the impact, the young rider was thrown from his motorcycle and sustained significant injuries. Emergency responders provided immediate care at the scene before transporting him to a medical facility for further treatment. The total estimated damage to both vehicles is approximately 6,500 euros.

During the course of the accident investigation, officers from the local traffic police unit observed irregularities concerning the motorcycle's license plate. Upon further examination, it was discovered that the registration plate attached to the vehicle was a complete forgery. This prompted an expanded inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the accident and the status of the driver.

Further checks revealed that the 17-year-old rider, a Moldovan national, did not possess a valid driver's license. Additionally, it was determined that the vehicle was not properly insured, constituting a breach of mandatory insurance regulations.

As a result, police have initiated formal proceedings against the teenager on suspicion of document forgery, operating a motor vehicle without the required license, and violating compulsory insurance laws. The authorities are continuing their investigation into the full sequence of events and the extent of the offenses.

Incidents like this underline the importance of compliance with licensing and insurance requirements for all road users. The police have reiterated the necessity for drivers to ensure that their vehicles are properly registered and insured, and that they hold the appropriate qualifications before operating any motor vehicle. These measures are essential for maintaining road safety and protecting all individuals involved in traffic activities.

The outcome of the investigation and any potential legal consequences for the teenager will depend on further findings. The local traffic police continue to monitor such incidents closely to deter similar violations and enhance public safety on regional roads.
