Suspected Arsonist Arrested for Land Rover Fire in Berlin

Authorities in Berlin have apprehended a 25-year-old male suspect believed to be responsible for setting a Land Rover on fire in the Alt-Hohenschönhausen district of Lichtenberg. The incident occurred late in the evening, prompting multiple witnesses to alert the police.

According to reports, several bystanders observed a man tampering with the vehicle on Marzahner Straße shortly before flames engulfed the SUV. Witnesses immediately contacted emergency services and attempted to extinguish the fire themselves as the suspect fled the scene on a bicycle.

Law enforcement officials arrived shortly thereafter and quickly detained a man who matched the description provided by witnesses. During a search of the suspect, police discovered a pair of gloves, which smelled of gasoline, along with a lighter. Witnesses later confirmed his identity during the investigation.

The case has been handed over to the State Criminal Police Office for further investigation. The suspect is expected to be presented before a magistrate later today.
