Senna Gammour Critiques Modern Dating Culture

The landscape of dating has evolved significantly, and for musician Senna Gammour, this transformation poses challenges. Gammour, known for her previous role as a member of the pop group Monrose, openly expresses her dissatisfaction with contemporary dating practices, describing herself as averse to the dating scene.

In a recent interview, she shared her sentiments regarding the current state of dating, stating that it has become too casual and lacks the clarity that was once inherent in romantic pursuits. She articulated a longing for a simpler approach to initiating relationships. Instead of navigating the complexities of modern dating, Gammour wishes for a mechanism to bypass the dating phase entirely, allowing her to jump straight into a committed relationship.

Despite her desire for companionship, Gammour has not engaged in traditional dating for a decade. Her absence from the dating scene is not due to a lack of opportunities, but rather a perceived absence of meaningful connections. She noted that in her experience, first dates often fail to convey a sense of direction or potential for a relationship.

In her view, the essence of dating has shifted from a pursuit of potential partners to a more ambiguous interaction where the intentions and outcomes remain unclear. Gammour reminisces about a time when the dating process involved definitive steps toward establishing a relationship.

For her ideal first date, Gammour envisions a romantic dinner at an Italian restaurant, accompanied by traditional courtesies such as having the door opened for her. She elaborated on her expectations for subsequent dates, suggesting that a movie outing should follow the initial dinner, with a daytime meeting as the next step.

As she navigates this personal landscape, Gammour continues to pursue her career as a comedian and is scheduled to perform her show titled "Toxisch, aber süß" in Berlin on May 10.
