The former manager of renowned Formula 1 champion Michael Schumacher, Willi Weber, was reportedly the victim of a violent robbery at his residence in Stuttgart's exclusive Kräherwald district. According to multiple media reports, three masked individuals entered the property on Tuesday evening, forcibly restraining Weber, his wife, and a housekeeper before accessing and emptying several safes on the premises.
Law enforcement authorities confirmed that a robbery involving three suspects took place but did not disclose the exact location. The attackers, described as wearing balaclavas and armed, allegedly threatened the occupants and tied them up during the incident. Significant amounts of cash and jewelry, estimated to be worth several hundred thousand euros, were stolen before the perpetrators fled the scene undetected.
Weber, aged 83, was present in the villa at the time of the robbery. His wife and a domestic worker were also reportedly at home during the break-in. The property, which boasts approximately 3,000 square meters of land, eight parking spaces, and 875 square meters of living space spread over four floors, is currently listed for sale on the real estate market. The villa, constructed in 2004, features luxury amenities including a spa area and an infinity pool. Despite his separation from his wife, Weber continues to reside at the property while planning to relocate to the Frankfurt region to be closer to his partner.
Following the incident, Weber sustained minor physical injuries and was left in a state of shock. The investigation is ongoing, with police interviewing witnesses and reviewing evidence as they seek information about the suspects and circumstances surrounding the crime. No arrests have been reported as of yet.
Willi Weber is best known in the motorsport world for managing the career of Michael Schumacher, one of Formula 1's most iconic drivers. Weber began working with Schumacher in 1988, when the future seven-time world champion was still a young emerging talent. Their professional relationship played a significant role in Schumacher's rise to international prominence within the racing community. Weber continued his managerial duties until 2009, after which Schumacher's representation was taken over by Sabine Kehm.
The recent robbery has raised concerns about security in high-profile neighborhoods and the potential risks faced by prominent individuals. Authorities are urging anyone with information about the incident to contact local law enforcement as investigations continue to identify and apprehend those responsible for the crime.
As the case develops, further updates are expected from police officials regarding the progress of their inquiry and any leads that may result in the capture of the perpetrators. Meanwhile, the local community and those within the motorsport industry have expressed shock following news of the attack on one of its longstanding figures.
