The opening day of the 49th 'Turnier der Meister' Gymnastics World Cup in Cottbus saw Karina Schönmaier deliver an impressive performance in the women's vault final. Representing TuS 1861 Chemnitz-Altendorf, the 20-year-old gymnast secured second place, finishing just 0.16 points behind Anna Kalmikowa, who competed as a neutral athlete. Teja Belak of Slovenia completed the podium in third position.
