Prominent pop singer Sarah Connor has unveiled a new single titled 'Ficka' from her upcoming album 'Freigeistin,' set to release on May 23. This upbeat track serves as a playful rebuttal to the negative comments she has received on social media, tackling stereotypes surrounding her as both an artist and a woman.

In the song, Connor addresses her detractors directly, expressing indifference to their criticisms. The lyrics reflect a sense of empowerment, with the artist emphasizing that despite the online negativity, she remains focused on her success and well-being. The music video, which debuted on YouTube, has already garnered tens of thousands of views since its release on Friday evening.

'Ficka' marks the second single from Connor's tenth studio album and is her third project performed in German, following her successful releases 'Muttersprache' in 2015 and 'Herz Kraft Werke' in 2019. In a message shared from Mexico via Instagram, Connor expressed her excitement about the positive reception of the song, urging fans to embrace its message.

The song, lasting just over two and a half minutes, includes lines that critique the often thoughtless language used by critics, highlighting its absurdity. Connor's lyrics convey a mix of humor and frustration, as she addresses the superficial judgments made about her appearance and music.

With lyrics such as, 'I find it really terrible - the music is just awful - why has it lasted so long?' Connor conveys her awareness of public perception while asserting her confidence. She acknowledges that such comments can affect her, but she also emphasizes her resilience and the joy derived from her family life and career.

Connor's previous single, 'Heut' ist alles gut,' also gained positive attention for its uplifting tone and relatable themes, demonstrating her ability to connect with her audience through both humor and sincerity.
