Fri 29th Aug, 2025

Samsung has announced the integration of Microsoft's AI Copilot into its latest range of Smart TVs and monitors. This innovative feature is designed to assist users by providing a voice-activated chatbot that delivers information related to the content being viewed, such as details about athletes during sports broadcasts. The Microsoft AI is expected to be available on the company's latest television models for the year 2025.

While Samsung has previously included the Bixby voice assistant in its devices, the incorporation of Copilot aims to enhance the contextual capabilities of AI in Smart TVs. Users can invoke the AI either through voice commands or via the remote control. This will enable a conversational interaction with the AI, offering personalized recommendations, relevant information, and an engaging learning experience.

According to Samsung, Copilot will be able to address a variety of scenarios. Beyond fetching information, it will summarize actions and assist users in learning foreign languages. The AI is also designed to help break down complex concepts for easier understanding. However, it remains unclear if users will be limited to inquiries about TV programming or if they can ask about broader topics. Additionally, the functionality appears to extend to planning activities, though specifics regarding its scope are not fully detailed.

Kevin Lee, a vice-president at Samsung, emphasized that Copilot simplifies the process of obtaining information, making it both enjoyable and efficient. David Washington, a leading manager at Microsoft AI, noted that Copilot on Samsung televisions acts like a personal AI companion within the living room.

While Samsung has not disclosed which specific TV models will feature the Microsoft Copilot, it is confirmed that the devices from the 2025 series, including Micro RGB, Neo QLED, OLED, The Frame Pro, and The Frame, will have this integration. Furthermore, the AI will also be incorporated into the Smart Monitors M7, M8, and M9. Future models are expected to include Copilot as well, although its availability may vary by market, with plans for regional expansion in the future.
