S-Bahn maintenance delays

More S-Bahn maintenance work is planned for the months ahead, ending in December.  The S-Bahn station Donnersbergerbrücke is being rebuilt, acquiring new lifts and a 37-meter-long bridge over the tracks to improve accessibility. Additionally, from Hackerbrücke to Ostbahnhof, fire safety imrpovements will also affect travel times.  This work will cost a total of 60 million euros and will develop in four phases:

When: Monday, 22 July to Friday 20 December, every night from 22.15pm to 4:45am.
S-Bahns between Pasing and Ostbahnhof will not function normally. Trains are stopping at every station between Pasing and Ostbahnhof in 20-minute intervals, and between Hackerbrücke and Ostbahnhof in 10-minute intervals.

PHASE 1: AUGUST
When: four weekends from 2nd to 26th August, from Friday, 22.45pm until Monday, 4.45am.


PHASE 2: SEPTEMBER
When: The weekend of 30th August to 16th September, from Friday, 22.45pm until Monday, 4.4am.
Route: Trains every 15 minutes with stops at every station. In the West: S1 and S2 without stopping from/to Hauptbahnhof, S3 and S4 from/to Laim. The S8 to Ostbahnhof from Pasing without stopping.

PHASE 3: AFTER THE OKTOBERFEST
When: Eight weekends from 11th October to 2nd December, each Friday, 22.45pm until Monday, 4.45am

Note that on working days there will be no disruption.

From mid-March 2014, more maintenance work will continue and disruptions are expected during this period as well.
