S-Bahn Disruptions in Berlin Due to Track Maintenance

Mon 6th Oct, 2025

From Monday through Tuesday, several S-Bahn lines in Berlin and Brandenburg will experience disruptions as maintenance work on tracks and switches is underway. Starting from 4 AM on Monday, October 6, the S46 line will not operate between Königs Wusterhausen and Wildau, with services resuming on October 13 at 1:30 AM. The S-Bahn Berlin has announced that alternative, accessible bus services will be provided during this period.

Additionally, S-Bahn services on the S3, S5, S7, and S9 lines will be halted between Friedrichstraße and Zoologischer Garten from 10 PM on Monday until 1:30 AM on Tuesday. Replacement buses will be available to accommodate affected passengers.

Furthermore, the S8 line will not run between Blankenburg and Birkenwerder in both directions during the same timeframe. Passengers are advised to utilize the rerouted S1 service as an alternative.

For travelers on the S1 line between Bornholmer Straße and Schönholz, trains will operate every 20 minutes in conjunction with the S25, as this segment has also been rerouted due to ongoing maintenance at Waidmannslust.

These maintenance activities are part of ongoing efforts to ensure the safety and reliability of the Berlin transit system. Commuters are encouraged to check for updates and plan their journeys accordingly to avoid inconvenience.
