Rare Luxury Porsche Involved in Accident Amid Severe Rain

Weimar, Thuringia - A limited edition Porsche, one of only 1,974 ever produced, was involved in an accident on Sunday evening on the A4 motorway near Weimar. The driver of the Porsche 911 Turbo 50 Jahre, which boasts 650 horsepower and carries a price tag of at least EUR274,000, was traveling towards Dresden when the vehicle lost control during heavy rain.

The incident unfolded after the driver exited at the Weimar interchange, where the car suddenly began to skid, spun around, and veered off into the roadside ditch. Following the impact, the vehicle slid several meters before coming to a halt, facing the opposite direction on the roadway.

Initial reports suggest that the driver may have been exceeding the speed limit on the wet road surface. The force of the collision caused the airbags to deploy, providing some measure of safety for the occupants.

Fortunately, the three individuals inside the vehicle, including a young child, sustained only minor injuries. A bystander promptly alerted emergency services and provided assistance to the driver, the passenger, and the child until help arrived. All three were subsequently transported to the Klinikum Weimar for medical evaluation.

Due to the incident, the right lane of the A4 was closed to facilitate the rescue operation. At the time of the accident, a severe rainstorm was affecting the area, and a speed limit of 120 km/h is enforced on this stretch of the highway during such weather conditions.

The luxurious Porsche was later retrieved by a towing service, but the extent of the damage to the vehicle remains unclear. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash, focusing on the impact of the adverse weather conditions.
