Köln, Germany - A tragic scene unfolded in October of last year in the Buchheim district of Cologne, where the lifeless body of a 38-year-old mother of four was discovered outside her home. Nicole was fatally injured from multiple stab wounds during her desperate attempt to escape her apartment.

On Friday, her ex-boyfriend, Sabri K., aged 54, appeared in court facing charges of manslaughter. The couple had only been living together for two weeks before their relationship turned violent.

Nicole ended the relationship on October 15, requesting Sabri to leave her home. However, on October 17, a dispute erupted between them in the kitchen. It is alleged that during this altercation, Sabri attacked Nicole with a kitchen knife, inflicting 26 stab wounds. In her attempt to flee, Nicole opened the kitchen window but was reportedly struck in the back before she fell from the fourth floor.

After the incident, Sabri attempted to end his own life by jumping from the same window but survived, sustaining serious injuries. He appeared in the Cologne District Court on crutches, accompanied by court officers, where he refrained from commenting on the charges against him. Law enforcement officials have suggested that his actions were motivated by a possessive mindset.

Nicole's mother expressed profound grief over her daughter's death, emphasizing that Nicole was a kind-hearted person who never harmed anyone. She expressed her hope that the court would deliver a just punishment for Sabri's actions. On the first day of the trial, she sat in the courtroom, facing the man accused of taking her daughter's life.
