Porsche Enhances PCM Infotainment System Across Key Models

Porsche has announced significant upgrades to its Porsche Communication Management (PCM) infotainment system for the model year change of several key vehicle lines, including the 911, Taycan, Panamera, and Cayenne.

The updated PCM system now offers access to the Porsche App Center, enhancing user experience with a broader array of applications. Additionally, it incorporates Dolby Atmos technology for improved sound quality, enabling a more immersive audio experience for occupants.

To support these enhancements, Porsche has upgraded the system's hardware to boost processing power, ensuring faster response times and smoother operation. This upgrade also facilitates better access to third-party apps via the Porsche App Center, functioning similarly to an app store.

The PCM interface is user-friendly, offering both touchscreen and voice command accessibility. It provides a variety of features and functionalities, including access to streaming services, news updates, media libraries, weather forecasts, travel guides, and charging station locators. Furthermore, the system supports online gaming, karaoke, and smart home controls.

Porsche assures that this offering will continue to evolve, with free updates guaranteed for ten years after purchasing a vehicle equipped with the latest PCM system. This commitment underscores Porsche's dedication to keeping its infotainment solutions current and user-friendly.

In parallel, the PCM enhancements introduce Amazon Alexa integration, which allows drivers to utilize voice commands for various tasks, such as managing smart home devices, creating to-do lists, playing music, and accessing news while driving. Users can activate Alexa via the designated voice command, a configurable button, or an icon on the display.

Moreover, the revised PCM system introduces Dolby Atmos sound processing for vehicles equipped with Bose or Burmester sound systems. This feature aims to deliver a concert hall-like audio experience, provided the content being played is available in Dolby Atmos format.

The updated Porsche models featuring the new PCM system are now available for order, marking a significant step forward in the brand's commitment to innovation and technological advancement.
